AMBALA, HARYANA — BJP mayoral candidate Akshita Saini officially filed her nomination for the upcoming Ambala Municipal Corporation elections, with senior party leaders expressing strong confidence in her victory.
The nomination filing, which took place on April 24, saw the presence of prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Haryana Minister Anil Vij and Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. The show of support from senior leaders underscored the party’s focus on the Ambala civic polls and its efforts to mobilise voters ahead of the elections.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Vij said that Akshita Saini filed her nomination with the “blessings of the people” and expressed confidence that she would secure a decisive victory by a large margin. He stated that the BJP is witnessing strong public support in the region, which he believes will translate into electoral success.
Vij further highlighted the party’s development narrative, attributing it to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that a “wave of development” led by the Prime Minister is sweeping across the country, and expressed hope that this momentum will also be reflected in the Ambala Municipal Corporation elections.
According to Vij, the BJP’s governance model, which focuses on infrastructure development, public welfare, and efficient administration, has resonated with the electorate. He said that the party aims to extend these benefits to the local level by ensuring that its candidates are elected to municipal bodies.
The presence of Manjinder Singh Sirsa at the nomination event further reinforced the party’s campaign push in Ambala. Party leaders used the occasion to engage with supporters and emphasise the importance of local governance, urging voters to support BJP candidates.
The Ambala Municipal Corporation elections are considered significant for grassroots governance, as elected representatives are responsible for addressing key civic issues such as sanitation, water supply, road maintenance, and urban development. BJP leaders have been actively campaigning to highlight their achievements and seek voter support.
Akshita Saini’s candidature is part of the BJP’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in urban local bodies across Haryana. The party has been focusing on projecting candidates who can connect with voters and carry forward its development agenda.
Political observers note that nomination filings often serve as important campaign moments, allowing parties to demonstrate unity and strength while signalling their electoral readiness. The participation of senior leaders in such events is seen as a way to boost morale among party workers and attract public attention.
The BJP has been emphasising its track record of development and governance, positioning itself as the preferred choice for voters seeking stability and progress. Leaders have also been highlighting national-level initiatives and linking them to local development prospects.
Meanwhile, the opposition parties are also campaigning actively, making the Ambala civic polls a closely watched contest. The outcome is expected to reflect local political dynamics as well as broader public sentiment.
Vij reiterated that the BJP is confident of securing a comprehensive mandate, stating that the party’s policies and performance have earned the trust of the people. He urged voters to participate in large numbers and support the party’s vision for development.
The nomination of Akshita Saini and the backing of senior BJP leaders signal the party’s strong campaign push in Ambala, with a clear focus on leveraging its development narrative to secure victory in the municipal elections.
