Haryana CM Nayab Singh Rallies in Ambala: Urges Voters to Strengthen BJP’s Vision for Development

Date:

AMBALA, HARYANA — With the municipal corporation elections fast approaching, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took to the streets of Ambala on Tuesday to spearhead a high-octane campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Addressing a series of public gatherings and an influential intellectuals’ meet, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of a “double-engine” growth model to ensure the seamless execution of urban development projects.

The atmosphere in Ambala was charged with political fervor as the Chief Minister was joined by the party’s mayoral candidate, Akshita Saini, and candidates for the 20 municipal wards. The campaign comes as a critical litmus test for the ruling party, with polling scheduled for May 10, 2026, and counting to follow on May 13.

Focusing on the “Modi Mantra” for Urban Growth

During his address, CM Nayab Singh Saini underscored that the state government is operating under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the administration is “continuously working to advance the mantra” of inclusive growth and transparent governance.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the BJP’s track record of fulfilling poll promises stands as its biggest credential. He urged the electorate to support all 21 party candidates—one for the Mayor’s post and 20 for ward councillors—to “bloom the lotus” once again in the corporation.

Ambala: A Hub for Industrial and Urban Excellence

A major highlight of the Chief Minister’s speech was the announcement of strategic industrial growth. He revealed that the state government is set to establish two Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) in Ambala. This move is expected to generate significant employment opportunities and bolster the local economy, transforming Ambala into a premier industrial hub in Northern India.

The BJP’s manifesto for the civic polls outlines a comprehensive 21-point agenda aimed at modernizing urban infrastructure. Key promises include:

  • Modernizing Sewage Systems: Upgrading old pipelines to prevent waterlogging.
  • Urban Greening: Developing state-of-the-art parks and increasing the city’s green cover.
  • Traffic Management: Implementing smart traffic solutions to ease congestion in busy markets.
  • Sanitation Campaigns: Strengthening the “Swachh Bharat” initiatives at the ward level.

Strategic Alliances and Social Harmony

The campaign also saw participation from prominent local leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma, whose family has a long-standing political influence in Ambala. Sharma echoed the Chief Minister’s sentiments, stressing that strong and accountable leadership in local bodies is essential for maintaining the momentum of development and transparency.

The Chief Minister further touched upon the theme of social harmony, referencing the recent renaming of the Adampur Airport after Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji as a testament to the government’s respect for all communities and its commitment to inclusive nation-building.

Looking Ahead to Election Day

As the campaign enters its final stretch, the Chief Minister urged the “intellectual class” to guide society toward choosing stable leadership. He emphasized that a victory in the municipal polls would provide the necessary mandate to continue the state’s trajectory of rapid growth.

The Haryana government has already declared May 10 as a paid holiday for registered voters in the poll-bound areas, including Ambala, Panchkula, and Sonipat, to ensure maximum participation in the democratic process.

With the BJP positioning this election as a choice between “development and stagnation,” the residents of Ambala now hold the key to the city’s administrative future. All eyes are now on the counting day of May 13 to see if the Chief Minister’s appeal for a “clean sweep” resonates with the urban electorate.
