Haryana Government Empowers Citizens: CM Nayab Singh Saini Releases ₹2,115 Crore via Direct Benefit Transfer

Date:

CHANDIGARH – In a major push toward social welfare and administrative transparency, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday announced the digital release of over ₹2,115 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 58 lakh beneficiaries.

Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, the Chief Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to a “pro-active” governance model, ensuring that every penny intended for the public reaches them without the interference of middlemen.

Milestone for Women: Seventh Installment of Lado Lakshmi Yojana

One of the most significant highlights of the day was the release of the seventh installment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana.

Under this flagship scheme, the state government transferred ₹205 crore to approximately 9.76 lakh women across Haryana. Each eligible woman receives a monthly financial aid of ₹2,100, aimed at fostering financial independence and improving the socio-economic status of women in both rural and urban areas.

To date, the state has disbursed a cumulative total of ₹1,415 crore over seven installments under this specific initiative.

Social Security and Farmer Welfare

The Chief Minister also oversaw the distribution of funds across several other critical sectors:

  • Social Security Pensions: Over ₹1,146 crore was disbursed to 35 lakh beneficiaries. This includes the Old Age Samman Allowance, Divyangjan (disability) pension, and other social security benefits.
  • Agricultural Support: Funds were released under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana (Price Difference Compensation) and for Kharif crop-2025 compensation. The CM highlighted that Haryana remains a leader in farmer welfare, ensuring online payments reach farmers within 48 hours of procurement.
  • Direct Outreach: In a modern twist to administrative communication, the CM announced that J-Forms (sale receipts for crops) are now being sent directly to farmers via WhatsApp to ensure they have immediate digital records of their transactions.

Digital Transformation: Online Building Plan Approvals

Beyond direct cash transfers, CM Saini launched a new digital platform for the Haryana Online Building Plan Approval System. This initiative is designed to eliminate the need for citizens to make repeated visits to government offices.

By using this portal, residents can now obtain approvals for residential plots and construction projects from the comfort of their homes. To ensure a smooth transition, the government will provide specialized training to architects and urban local body officials.

A Model of Transparency

The Chief Minister contrasted Haryana’s “Double Engine” governance with other regions, noting that the state has successfully integrated the Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID) database to automate eligibility. This system identifies beneficiaries based on verified data, allowing pensions and subsidies to be triggered automatically without the need for lengthy manual applications.

“We have brought a systemic transformation,” Saini added. “By leveraging technology, we have eliminated the ‘leakage’ that used to plague welfare systems. Today, the common man knows that their government is just a click away.”
