Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Champions Cultural Unity at Nawanshahr Sant Sammelan

Date:

NAWANSHAHR, PUNJAB — Strengthening the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual ties between neighboring states, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed a massive gathering at the Sant Sammelan held in Nawanshahr. The event, organized under the spiritual patronage of Vedant Acharya Swami Chetananand Bhuriwale, served as a platform to highlight the shared heritage of Punjab and Haryana.

Addressing the congregation of devotees and spiritual leaders, CM Saini emphasized that while administrative borders might separate the two states, they remain “bound by one culture and one spirit.” He lauded the role of the Bhuriwale (Garib Dassi) Sampradaya in guiding society toward a path of righteousness and selfless service.

A Message of Spiritual and Social Harmony

During his address, the Chief Minister paid high tribute to the lineage of the Bhuriwale sect, specifically mentioning the contributions of Swami Chetananand Maharaj. He noted that the community has been instrumental in “guiding people all over,” focusing on education, health, and the welfare of the underprivileged.

Saini pointed out that the legacy of Acharya Garib Das Ji, which the Bhuriwale sect follows, is a cornerstone of the spiritual fabric of both Punjab and Haryana. He highlighted how the sect’s headquarters and historical sites bridge the two states, fostering a sense of brotherhood that transcends political boundaries.

Focus on Education and Welfare

The Chief Minister spoke at length about the humanitarian initiatives led by the Maharaj Bhuriwale Garib Dassi Education Trust. He commended the sect’s commitment to building “Temples of Knowledge”—educational institutions in remote rural areas—rather than focusing solely on religious structures.

  • Women’s Empowerment: The trust’s emphasis on girl-child education in the backward Kandi areas was specifically noted as a model for social reform.
  • Healthcare Services: CM Saini praised the regular multi-specialty medical camps organized by the sect, which provide free healthcare to the poor.
  • Ethical Living: He urged the youth to adopt the principles of honesty and sacrament preached by the saints to build a stronger nation.

Strengthening State Relations

Beyond the spiritual context, Saini’s visit is seen as a significant gesture of goodwill toward Punjab. He reiterated that the progress of the region depends on mutual cooperation and the “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with all, Development for all) mantra. By attending a major event in Punjab, the Haryana CM signaled a commitment to maintaining harmonious relations and shared social goals.

The event concluded with Swami Chetananand Maharaj blessing the gathering and emphasizing the need for peace and unity in the region. Thousands of followers from various parts of North India attended the Sammelan, reflecting the widespread influence of the Bhuriwale sect.
