Haryana Clears Modern Industrial Park at IMT Ambala Under BHAVYA Scheme

Date:

The Haryana government has approved the establishment of a modern industrial park at IMT Ambala under the Central Government’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA). The project is expected to strengthen industrial infrastructure, attract investments, and generate employment opportunities across the region.

The proposal received approval during a state-level committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, paving the way for the Centre’s final approval.

The proposed industrial park will be developed within the upcoming Industrial Model Township (IMT) Ambala managed by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC).

Key project highlights include:

  • Project Cost: Approximately ₹304 crore
  • Area: 108.58 acres
  • Location: IMT Ambala, Haryana
  • Infrastructure: Plug-and-play industrial facilities

The investment-ready infrastructure is expected to help businesses establish operations more quickly and efficiently.

The Ambala project forms part of the Central Government’s BHAVYA (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana) initiative.

The programme aims to:

  • Develop 100 world-class industrial parks across India.
  • Strengthen manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Improve ease of doing business.
  • Attract domestic and foreign investment.
  • Promote balanced industrial development.

The scheme has an overall planned investment of ₹33,660 crore over a period of six years.

The industrial park is being planned as a plug-and-play manufacturing hub, offering ready-to-use infrastructure for investors.

Expected features include:

  • Modern industrial plots.
  • Internal road network.
  • Power and water supply.
  • Utility infrastructure.
  • Business-friendly environment.
  • Faster project implementation.

Such infrastructure helps reduce setup time and encourages quicker industrial expansion.

Before granting approval, the state-level committee reviewed multiple aspects of the project, including:

  • Technical feasibility.
  • Financial planning.
  • Infrastructure readiness.
  • Overall project viability.

Following the evaluation, the committee recommended the proposal under the BHAVYA scheme for further consideration by the Central Government.

The new industrial park is expected to:

  • Attract fresh industrial investments.
  • Create direct and indirect employment.
  • Strengthen Haryana’s manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Improve regional infrastructure.
  • Support economic growth in Ambala and surrounding districts.

The project also complements Haryana’s ongoing efforts to expand industrial capacity and enhance competitiveness.

Modern industrial parks play a vital role in boosting manufacturing, attracting investment, and creating employment opportunities. The proposed Ambala Industrial Park aligns with India’s broader objective of strengthening industrial infrastructure and supporting long-term economic growth through world-class manufacturing ecosystems.
