Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called for making environmental conservation a people’s movement during a youth interaction and tree plantation programme in Pinjore, where he also launched the Van Chetna Yatra-2026.

CM Saini Calls for Collective Action on Environmental Conservation

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday urged citizens to transform environmental conservation into a mass movement, saying that Indian culture has always emphasized respect for and protection of nature.

Addressing a Youth Interaction and Tree Plantation Programme at the Apple Market in Pinjore, Panchkula, Saini referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide campaign, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, and stressed the importance of public participation in safeguarding the environment.

The chief minister said environmental protection is a shared responsibility and called on people, especially the youth, to actively contribute to tree plantation and conservation efforts.

Saplings Planted, Van Chetna Yatra-2026 Flagged Off

Before the event, Saini, accompanied by Forests, Environment and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh, planted saplings at the Apple Market and flagged off four LED vans under Van Chetna Yatra-2026.

The LED vans will travel across all districts of Haryana to encourage citizens to plant more trees and spread awareness about environmental protection and sustainable practices.

During the programme, the chief minister also distributed certificates to participants of the Thapli Nature Camp in recognition of their involvement in environmental activities.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana and local MLA Shakti Rani Sharma were also present at the event.

Government Announces Initiatives for Youth

Highlighting the state government’s focus on youth welfare, Saini announced that 1,000 young people would be included under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana.

He also announced the appointment of a special officer in the Chief Minister’s Office to address issues concerning young people and ensure that their concerns receive timely attention.

The chief minister said empowering youth and involving them in developmental initiatives would contribute significantly to the state’s progress.

Morni’s Tikkar Taal to Be Developed as Training Centre

During his address, Saini announced plans to develop Tikkar Taal in Morni as a mountaineering training centre on the lines of Manali.

He said the government would strengthen the supporting infrastructure in the area to promote adventure tourism and create new opportunities for young people.

The initiative is expected to enhance Morni’s appeal as a destination for outdoor and adventure activities.

Infrastructure Boost for Pinjore Apple Market

The chief minister also announced several infrastructure measures for the Pinjore Apple Market, including the establishment of a dedicated electricity substation.

In addition, the government will provide improved parking facilities and enhance police security for vehicles transporting apples from neighbouring Himachal Pradesh.

The announcements are aimed at supporting traders and improving facilities at one of the region’s important fruit markets.
